Renaming remote stations

This procedure creates a step to rename the station on the remote device to match the name of the station’s proxy name in the Supervisor’s NiagaraNetwork. This is particularly useful for Edge devices, which are delivered with a default station whose name is unique based on the host ID.

The BatchJobService is available under Services. The ProvisioningNwExt component is available under the NiagaraNetwork. The Niagara Network Job Builder (one-time job) or the Niagara Network Prototype View (reoccurring job) is open. All stations are named as desired under the NiagaraNetwork in the Supervisor station.
  1. In the top pane, Provisioning steps to run, click add ().
    The New Job Step window opens.
  2. Select the Rename Device Station step and click OK.
  3. In the bottom pane, Stations to include in the job, click add ().
    The Add Device window opens.
  4. Select the stations to rename and click OK.
  5. To initiate the provisioning job, review your choices and click Run Now at the bottom of the view.
    The view changes to the Niagara Network Job View, where steps and results appear as they are executed.
