This procedure creates a provisioning job to generate and
export a certificate signing request (CSR) file for a certificate
installed on each remote device in the job. It stores the resulting
files in the ^csrExport folder on the Supervisor station. This step is intended to run as part
of a provisioning workflow to establish server certificates on stations
connected to a Supervisor.
The BatchJobService is available under Services. The ProvisioningNwExt component is available under the NiagaraNetwork. The Niagara Network Job Builder (one-time)
or Niagara Network Prototype View (reoccurring
job) is open.
A server certificate, typically created from the Generate Certificate
step.
- In the Niagara Network Job Builder’s top pane, Provisioning steps to run click
(Add).
- In the New Job Step window, click
the Export Certificate Signing Request step
and click OK.
The system opens the
Export Certificate Signing
Request window.

- Enter the appropriate File Naming Identifier and Certificate Alias for the certificate on
the remote device (as shown in the example), and click OK.
Note: The alias must be for a server certificate that exists
on the target device.
- In the bottom pane, Stations to include in the
job, c click
(Add). - In the Add Device window, click to
select the stations and click OK.
- Review your choices, and to initiate the provisioning job,
click the Run Now button at the bottom of the Niagara Network Job Builder view.
The view changes to the Niagara Network Job
View, where steps and results appear as they are executed.
The resulting files will be in the ^csrExport folder on the Supervisor station.
A CA certificate signs the CSR. The Import Certificate step
can then be used to import the signed certificate.Refer to the
