1. Configuring the Niagara Enterprise Security 4.8 Supervisor station connection

This procedure describes how to setup the Niagara Enterprise Security 4.8 station so that a legacy JACE-6 controller (running a station with NiagaraAX-3.8) can connect and authenticate a user with the newer station.
Prerequisites: Niagara Enterprise Security 4.8 Workbench application is installed and running.
Perform the following steps:
  1. Using Niagara Enterprise Security 4.8 Workbench, connect to the security Supervisor station that will establish a connection with the legacy controller.
  2. In the Supervisor station, navigate to Config > Services and double-click on the UserService node.
    The User Manager view opens.

  3. In this view, create a new user that you will use later to authenticate the NiagaraAX controller station connection back to this Supervisor station.
  4. Name the User and set the property values including these two properties:
    • For Authentication Scheme Name, choose: AX digest scheme.
    • For Roles, choose: admin.
  5. Navigate to Config > Services > WebService.
    The WebService Property Sheet opens.

  6. Set the Cipher Suite Group property value to the Supported option and click Save.
  7. Navigate to Config > Services > FoxService.
    The FoxService Property Sheet opens.

  8. Set Cipher Suite Groupto the Supported option and click Save.
  9. Navigate to the Supervisor Certificate Management view (Platform > Certificate Management) and delete the remote controller certificate from the Allowed Hosts table.

  10. Within N4 Workbench, open a platform connection to your AX controller.
    While you cannot connect to an AX station from N4, you can connect to the platform.
  11. Navigate to the remote controller Certificate Management view (Platform > Certificate Management) and delete the Supervisor certificate from the Allowed Hosts table.
