Installing the Modbus driver

This topic documents how to install the Modbus driver software in a remote host.
Prerequisites: Niagara 4.9 or later is installed and configured to be used as an installation tool (check box “This instance of Workbench will be used as an installation tool” enabled).
  1. From your PC, commission various models of remote host platforms. The .dist files are located under your Niagara install directory under a sw subdirectory.
  2. Install the modbusCore module, plus any specific modbus<type> module needed (for example, modbusAsync, modbusTcp, and so on).
  3. Upgrade any modules shown as out of date.
The remote host is now ready for Modbus configuration in its running station.
