This topic documents how to install the Modbus driver software in a remote host.
Prerequisites:
Niagara 4.9 or later is installed and configured to be used as an installation tool (check box “This instance of
Workbench will be used as an installation tool” enabled).
- From your PC, commission various models of remote host platforms. The .dist files are located under your
Niagara install directory under a sw subdirectory.
- Install the modbusCore module, plus any specific modbus<type> module needed (for example, modbusAsync, modbusTcp, and so on).
- Upgrade any modules shown as out of date.
The remote host is now ready for Modbus configuration in its running station.
