Uninstalling the platform daemon

To disable the platform daemon at start up, that is remove the Niagara 4 scripts in /usr/bin and /etc/init.d, you have to execute the uninstall_service script, found in the /uninstall directory. It is not necessary to execute this script prior to running main Niagara 4 uninstallation script, as it will uninstall the service, and more, on its own.
Prerequisites:
  • You need to be acting as root to accomplish this task.
Perform the following steps:
  1. To change to the target release’s uninstall directory, type:
    root@<host>:/usr/bin# cd <targetNiagaraReleaseDirectory>/uninstall
  2. To issue the uninstall_service.sh command type:
    root@<host>:/opt/Niagara/Niagara-4.2.n/uninstall# bash uninstall_service.sh
The platform daemon (service) is uninstalled. The service can be safely reinstalled using the install_service.sh command. See “Installing the platform daemon”.
