Displaying reachable stations on Security Dashboard

As of Niagara 4.14, a multi-tier Security Dashboard allows you to access data from stations in the Niagara Network that are not directly connected to the Supervisor but can be reached indirectly by stations in its Niagara Network. If enabled, you can view any station reachable from the Supervisor. For example, if Supervisor 1 is connected to Supervisor 2, which itself is connected to a station 3, the dashboard will display all three stations, even if Supervisor 1 is not directly connected to station 3.

  • All stations along the route must be upgraded to Niagara 4.14 and later except for the end station, which can be Niagara 4.8 and later.
Note: For stations along the route that are not upgraded to Niagara 4.14 and later, their route will be ignored.
  • All stations must have an enabled Security Service.

  • The Niagara Network client connection credentials must have access to the Security Service on the end station.

This feature is useful in a multi-tier environment with multiple Supervisors connected to a single, main Supervisor.

  1. To enable the multi-tier system security dashboard, expand Config > Service > Security Service and from the View Selector menu in the upper right corner, select the property sheet.

  2. From the Station Link Config drop-down menu, select Display remote station dashboard (directly connected and reachable stations).
As a result, for all stations the link on the System Security Dashboard will lead you to the remote station’s Security Dashboard.

If you select Display local view of remote station dashboard, for all stations the link on the System Security Dashboard will lead you to the Security Dashboard Extension on the Niagara station on the Supervisor. For environments in which the stations in the Niagara Network can be reached by the client, but the reachable stations cannot, you can select Display remote station dashboard (directly connected and reachable stations). This will cause the link on the Security Dashboard to lead you to the remote station for directly connected stations, and will lead to the Security Dashboard Device Extension for reachable stations.

  3. Set the Include Reachable Stations On System Dashboard to true.
The next time you view the Security Dashboard, the reachable stations will automatically be included.
